MES Worship Team
Alex Lei
This year, the worship team has continued to lead the MES congregation to praise God and draw closer to Him. Our purpose has always been to magnify God and let His truth dwell in us richly. It has been an encouragement to see and hear our congregation singing passionately during the service, expressing our praise for God. We introduced a few new songs such as “The Jesus Way”, “His Glory and My Good” and “Christus Victor (Amen)”, which have been sung alongside well-known songs and hymns. These songs, whether new or old, express timeless Biblical truths of God’s character and our hope in God’s promise. It has been a genuine joy to sing such well-written songs which are rich in doctrine.
In July of this year, the worship team hosted a music night. This was an opportunity to invite new people to explore serving on the music team. It was encouraging to see new congregation members of different ages show interest in worshipping God with their musical talent. In the near future, we hope to invite more people to join our music team as they seek to serve God with their gifts.
The worship team would not be possible without the dedicated service of our team members. A lot of behind-the-scenes preparation goes into serving on the music team, such as weeknight rehearsals, individual practice and arriving early on Sunday morning just to name a few examples. I want to thank our team members for their faithful, diligent service and making worship possible for everyone at MES. We have been blessed with members who are not only talented at their craft but also godly examples in their own walk with God. I want to especially mention Samuel Tiong who joined our team as a pianist this year, bringing his skill and passion for worship to serve God. The worship team will continue its mission to bring glory to God through congregational singing. We look forward to using our songs to teach and encourage MES for the edification of the church.
